How to group Radio Buttons on a SeamlessDoc

This article will review how to group together your Radio Buttons correctly on a SeamlessDoc (uploaded PDF).

You have clicked and dragged radio buttons into place on your SeamlessDoc (uploaded PDF), but when you go to the live view, the applicant is allowed to choose more than one option.

As noted, radio buttons are used when you have a multiple choice option but you only want the applicant to choose ONE of the selections and not all of them- in order to accomplish this, the radio buttons must have the same group label.

Click on the first radio button you made so that the toolbar can populate in the edit view of your form. Once the toolbar loads, you will see different fields that can be customized:

• First field will read Radio Button since that is the type of field

• Second field will read radio_ and a random series of letters/numbers will appear after the underscore. This is the group label. Think of the group label as the question you are asking the applicant to fill out.

• Third and final field will also read radio_ and a random series of letters/numbers will appear after the underscore. This is the field label. Think of the field label as the option selection.

You will always leave the type of field to Radio Button since you want to use a radio button for your question. To customize the group label, you will click on the group label drop down menu and select Add a New Group. The field will then become editable and you can enter in the question you are asking. To customize the field label, simply highlight the text and replace it with one of your option values. Click save and your first radio button is all set up.

Next you will click on your next radio button that is part of the same question to populate the radio button toolbar once again. Once again leave the type of field (Radio Button) alone and start with the group label field. This time you will click on the drop down menu and select the group label you just created for the first radio button (instead of clicking Add a New Group-you already have a group and this option is part of that same group so no need to make a new one). Finally, in the last field, once again highlight the text and replace it with the option value for that radio button.

You will repeat these steps for all of the radio buttons within the same group (question). Start from the beginning if you are trying to add a new radio button group.
